Located in Kosciuszko National Park, Perisher Blue Resort has 49 lifts across an immense 1,245 hectares of varied terrain and four mountain areas. It is the perfect healthy holiday destination as nothing beats adventure, fresh air and scenery on the Australian Alps.

For the ultimate in cardio-vascular exercise you can try cross-country skiing. Perisher Blue’s cross-country trails consist of an extensive network of groomers, undulating and sheltered trails that weave through the magical snow gums.

‘What makes this activity so great,’ Alan Davis, Marketing Department Events commented ‘is that it involves your upper and lower body, which means that it doesn’t take much to get your heart rate soaring.’

Snowshoeing is another perfect way to discover Australia’s unique wilderness and wildlife, and is also a fantastic fitness activity. Enjoy one of the resort’s half-day guided tours and top it off with a gourmet lunch while out on the trail.

For the high action seekers, Fusion Parks and Pipe’s can keep their limbs nimble by making the most of Perisher Blue’s freeride facilities. Fusion consists of four progressive terrain parks and a superpipe. It is the ultimate for the adrenaline addict and fitness hound, keen to mix it up with some jumps and new school features.

Early birds and the ultra keen should not miss the experience of a First Tracks Morning. It is truly a special Perisher Blue experience, allowing a limited number of resort guests to enjoy access to a selected area in the resort before anyone else.

First Tracks are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the months of July, August and September and are available for intermediate to advanced standards.

To top off the perfect action packed day on the slopes and ease those limbs enjoy the sauna and spa facilities available for guests staying at The Perisher Valley Hotel. Enjoy a meal at Snow Gums, The Perisher Valley Hotel’s signature restaurant before retiring to recoup for another action packed day. There are also plenty of excellent places to eat, located right on-snow, around the resort to keep you refuelled and batteries charged during your day, so keep an eye out when schussing around.
