Plane overshoots runway, all passenger safe

A plane overshot the runway in at an airport in Eastern Indonesia in bad weather but all passengers and crew were unharmed.
The Super Air Jet Airbus 320 came to a standstill in the grass ant the end of the runway at Weda Bay Airport, North Maluku.
The plane took off from Manado Sam Ratulangi Airport with 172 passengers onboard.
Super Air Jet President Director Arif Azhari said all guests and flight crew were uninjured.
“After the plane completed the landing phase, the front of the plane crossed the take-off limit,” Arif said.
“Super Air Jet apologises for the inconvenience experienced by guests.”
He said it skidded during rain and an investigation is underway by National Transportation Safety Committee officials.
The plane has been grounded since the weekend incident.
Super Air jet is a subsidiary brand of Indonesia’s Lion Air group.
