Police launch appeal after death of boy, 5, at holiday park
Police are appealing for witnesses after the death of a five-year-old boy at a holiday park in Leicestershire.
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.
Police were called to Bosworth Water Park in Market Bosworth on Saturday afternoon after a boy was taken to hospital, where he later died.
A statement from Leicestershire police said: "An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the death.
"We would ask that people do not speculate about the incident and the circumstances surrounding the death and leave the authorities to carry out their investigations.
"If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist with our enquiries please contact us. Equally if you recorded any video footage at the park yesterday around the blue lagoon beach we’d like to speak to you."
The 50-acre park, which has beaches, walks, caravans, camping and log cabins, closed following the incident and issued a statement passing on its deepest sympathies to everyone effected by this tragic loss of life.
