POM travel agents vote for Rydges Hotels and Resorts
Rydges Hotels and Resorts has won the prestigious Selling Long Haul Awards for 2007, in the category “Hotel you would first recommend to clients heading to Australasia”.
Recently announced in London, the award, which is voted for by UK travel agents, is considered to be an international endorsement of the group’s outstanding accommodation.
“Rydges emerged the outright winner by seeing off some very stiff competition from other strong contenders,” said Martin Steady, Managing Director, BMI Publications, publisher of the magazine.
“We received a large number of votes, and this unprecedented support by the UK’s travel agents is truly an industry-wide endorsement,” he said.
Rydges Hotels and Resorts was chosen from a group which included Peppers Resorts, Voyages, Choice Hotels and Four Seasons Sydney.
Robin Harrigan, Director of Sales and Revenue for Rydges Hotels and Resorts said the group is flattered about the recognition.
“The award comes as a complete, but wonderful, surprise. We are just thrilled to have been voted number one and it is really is a testament to our talented staff who work tirelessly to strengthen the brand in the overseas marketplace.”

Rydges Hotels and Resorts has more than 30 properties in Australia and New Zealand, Dubai and the UK.
