Poms dream of a trip down under
More than half of the participants in a recent UK survey named Australia or New Zealand as their ‘ultimate dream holiday destination.’
The survey, carried out on behalf of Halifax Unsecured Personal Loans, found 53 percent of Brits would choose an antipodean location as their dream holiday destination.
An around-the-world trip was the second most favoured option, while a trip to the US and Canada was third.
The survey found Australia and New Zealand was the most favoured location for all age groups except the over 65s.
A Halifax spokesman said easier and cheaper long-haul travel meant such a dream holiday was not considered so much a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip as a common ambition, with one in five respondents saying they would not wait for a special occasion to take their dream holiday
