Power travelers: take note
The best times to visit some of the world’s most popular sites is the “off season,” when crowds are smaller. So Cheap flights comparison site, Skyscanner, has some tips for “power travelers who are aware of this truism:
—In the summer, head for Hawaii. It’s the 7th most popular destination in the spring but by the summer, it falls to the 11th choice. Why is that? Mainly because at that time visitors from northern areas don’t have to go all the way to Hawaii for warmer weather.
—In the fall, try San Francisco. It’s very popular in the summer but the Bay area lags in the fall partially because of climate: in the fall, rainfall is rare and there’s less humidity.
—Frankfurt it a winter wonderland and while many tourists may be put off by its cold reputation, it’s actually much warmer than almost any other European and North American destination at that time of year. Besides, it has the world-famed Christkindlmarket.
—Spring is the time to visit Orlando. Tourism is down, meaning theme parks are far less crowded with less lines and no blistering summer. Mosquitoes are also at their least active this time of year. An additional benefit is Disney’s Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.
