Premier Inn looking for rapid growth in Southeast Asia
The UK’s largest hotel brand Premier Inn is on a big push in South East Asia and the Middle East, after announcing deals for its first hotels in the region.
First up will be the 300-room Premier Inn Singapore Beach Road in mid-2016, followed by a 224-room hotel in central Bangkok the same year.
According to Erik Van Keulen, senior VP development for the brand, it is aiming for 10,000 new rooms by 2019 in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India and the Middle East.
The hotels will be targeted to ‘value-conscious travellers’ Van Keulen said.
"Our vision is to expand very fast and be a successful and powerful mid-scale brand in the region," he added.
