Priceline.com and Orbitz in new partnership
Orbitz will be Priceline.com’s exclusive partner for opaque travel services beginning Jan. 1, after signing a multi-service travel marketing agreement.
Priceline.com said the agreement also restructures a hotel marketing contract between the companies enabling Orbitz to establish direct relationships with hotel chains and properties, reported Dow Jones.
Orbitz, which is owned by Cendant Corp.’s (CD) Travel Distribution Services unit, said the partnership will give its customers access to Priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price travel services.
