Qantas appoints new manager for China market
After receiving regulatory approval for an alliance with China Eastern Airlines, Qantas has appointed a new country manager for China.
Alan Chang will be based in Shanghai and was most recently at Emirates as regional sales manager for the Taiwan market. Previously he was general manager for Holiday Tours and Travel which are Taiwan general sales agents for Qantas.
"China is an incredibly important market for Qantas, as well as Australia’s most valuable inbound tourism market. Together with Qantas’ ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding product and service, our joint venture with China Eastern will also allow us to boost connectivity between China and Australia, deliver expanded services and increased frequent flyer benefits," Chang said.
Chang will manage the South China market along with Wyn Li, general manager for Qantas in Hong Kong, the airline said.
