Qantas crew wear All Blacks jerseys after airline loses Twitter bet

Qantas has settled a good-natured bet with Air New Zealand after Australia’s Rugby World Cup defeat last Saturday by getting the crew of Monday’s flight from Sydney to Auckland to wear All Blacks jerseys.

The two airlines, whose national teams were going head to head in the final, started sparring on Twitter last week, with the airlines joking that the losing nation should paint their aircraft in the colours of the winners.

Ahead of the match on Friday, Air New Zealand came up with the more realistic suggestion that Qantas crews wore the All Black jerseys and, when the Kiwi All Blacks beat the Australian Wallabies 34-17, Qantas agreed.

Air New Zealand thanked Qantas on Twitter for being ‘good sports’.
