Qantas launches flights to Norfolk Island
Qantas is launching flights to a new island getaway destination this week. It is starting service from Brisbane and Sydney to Norfolk Island from 19 March.
There will be three flights a week from both cities as part of an initial trial period, adding about 2,000 seats a week.
The South Pacific destination is an external Aussie territory so no quarantine is needed. It is about two hours away from Brisbane.
"With international borders closed, we know Australians are looking for new holiday experiences and Norfolk Island is a destination that has so much to offer. The flights also provide an ongoing service for residents to get to the mainland," Qantas said.
