Qantas launches loyalty member Golf Club
In a bid to attract more frequent flyer business, Australian flag carrier Qantas has launched Qantas Golf Club.
The new online service lets frequent flyers earn Qantas Points when booking tee times or golf holiday packages, and offers access to exclusive golf events and tournaments.
Quantas frequent travelers can sign up for free or register for premium membership at an annual fee of $249.
Qantas’s upper level Platinum One members will receive complimentary premium membership the airline said.
The airline says 40,000 members have already signed up ahead of the official launch yesterday.
Regular members earn 1 frequent flyer point for every dollar spent at qantasgolfclub.com, while premium members will get 3 points per dollar.
Members are able to book tee times at more than 45 Australian golf courses at present including popular golf destinations Hamilton Island, Noosa and Port Macquarie.
Premium members have access to over 65 courses.
"Bolstering the engagement levels of social golfers in Australia is a key part of our strategy focused on increasing golf club membership," said Golf Australia chief executive Stephen Pitt.
"We know the Qantas Golf Club will have a positive effect on the participating clubs through increased foot traffic, rounds played, marketing and future membership opportunities."
