Qantas makes executive appointments
AAP reports that Qantas has made two executive appointments to newly created positions in the company.
Former executive general manager of Freight Enterprises Grant Fenn was appointed executive general manager of strategy and investments.
The role, which is effective today, will include fleet and long term network planning.
He will also oversee all current and future investments including Star Track Express, Australian air Express, Air Pacific and Jetset Travelworld.
David Hall was appointed to the newly created position of group general manager corporate services, reporting to the chief executive, effective November 28.
Mr Hall joined Qantas in November 2005 as the chief financial officer of Jetstar.
He will be responsible for IT and on behalf of the chief executive, he will facilitate the effective co-ordination between the various corporate executives and support Executive Committee meetings and reviews.
Qantas’ executive general manager people Kevin Brown, will be leaving Qantas during the first quarter of 2009 after seven years.
A global search for the human resources position has begun.
