Qantas offering in-flight Netflix, Spotify streaming

The opportunity to binge-watch your favourite movies and TV shows at 35,000 feet is coming to Qantas.

The Australian flag carrier has inked agreements with streaming services Netflix, Spotify and Autralian service Foxtel.

"We know that email, online shopping and general web browsing will be popular uses when we switch on wi-fi but what a lot of people relish about flying is being able to catch up on their favourite TV shows or watch movies they didn’t get to see at the cinema," said Olivia Worth, Qantas group executive of marketing.

It will be rolled out on some Qantas domestic flights later this month along with Wi-Fi speeds up to 10 times faster and then to its Boeing 737s and Airbus A330 fleet from the summer.

The airline said it is also looking at rolling it out on international services.
