RCI appoints ex-MyTravel commercial sales chief
Timeshare exchange giant RCI is to beef up accommodation sales to travel agents with a new appointment.
Former MyTravel commercial sales head Martin Andrew is joining the company in the new role of commercial director, travel, UK & Ireland.
His role is to spearhead the growth in sales of travel products to RCI members and to loyalty club customers.
Mr Andrew will also be responsible for sales of RCI Holiday Network, RCI’s trade brand selling accommodation to travel agents.
Cendant-owned RCI said: “In addition to exploiting current revenue opportunities, Andrew’s remit involves the development of a sales framework to strengthen directional selling and create new streams of income.”
Mr Andrew joined RCI in a consultancy capacity last year after three years in the commercial role at MyTravel. He previously worked in a variety of commercial and sales roles over 12 years at several existing and former MyTravel subsidiaries including Travelworld, Going Places and Hogg Robinson.
Mr Andrew said: “RCI’s travel business has enormous growth potential and I’m excited at the challenge ahead”.
Meanwhile, Sara Chick has been promoted to travel sales manager at RCI, reporting to Mr Andrew.
