Real-time cruise booking system for agents developed

A real-time global reservation system for the cruise market has been developed by travel technology specialists Holiday IT.

Agents will be able to access a real-time online inventory based on rates from 15 cruise lines, according to the company.

The Cruise Trip booking system claims to provide agents with the most competitive and up to the minute rates for travel and accommodation.

The new system uses features from the company’s QuickRes booking solution and incorporates additional functionality and the first ever real-time inventory in the UK.

Cruise Trip allows agents to build client profiles as well as speed up bookings, compare current and past quotations and set reminders, according to the company.

The system is designed to simplify the booking process and provide confirmations at every stage. The company said it aims to help cruise departments, ranging from reservations to accounting and management to marketing, to operate more quickly and efficiently.

Holiday IT managing director Alan Crampton said: “The system allows agents to search for the most competitive package by building a quote from the best rates for cabins, flights, hotels and car hire.

“The system’s Quotation Builder then creates an instantly updated tailored package and calculates the commission for the supply of these services, allowing agents to maximise their profits and pass on any savings to the consumer.

“The system is very versatile and we can tailor it to suit the needs of individual agents. The cruise industry is going through change at the moment and Cruise Trip will help make their systems fit for the future.”
