Rock crew insure a sailing victory in Caribbean

A seven-man crew from Rock Insurance enjoyed the warm waters of the Caribbean, hosted by Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, after winning the Travel Industry Yacht Regatta this summer.

The crew enjoyed hospitality from the Catamaran Hotel and the Antigua Yacht Club, both situated on the water's edge.

Rock's team was split in two to race in Antigua: Buckingham, Walton and Assock were joined by TravelMole MD Graham McKenzie to win the race after the opposition were penalised for dangerous tactics as they approached the first marker buoy.

Rock MD Anthony Martin said: "We have had the best of times here.  The island is one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean and the people the friendliest. We have all been so taken with the hospitality and the sailing that many of us are seriously considering returning under our own steam and take a professional training course in yachting"

The crew were shown around the island and enjoyed such places as Turners Beach, Shirley Heights, Nelsons Dockyard and Devils Bridge where, unfortunately, Adrian Walton got drenched.

The trip to Antigua was supported by Virgin Atlantic airways which carries sports baggage for free,  WeTravel4Sports which specialises in group sports bookings and local tourism and sailing experts company AntiguaNice.com.

The Travel industry Yacht Regatta 2012 will be held on 5 July.
