Ryanair ended Prime membership test phase at the end of November
Ultra-low-cost carrier Ryanair announced on November 28, 2025, that it discontinues its Prime membership offering effective November 28, after an eight-month testing period.
All 55,000 existing Prime members will however continue to receive exclusive monthly low-fare deals through October 2026. However, no new members can join starting Ryanair membership program.
Ryanair CMO Dara Brady said:
“For years, customers have asked for a Ryanair membership program, which is why we tested our Prime program over the past eight months. To date, more than 55,000 customers have signed up for Prime. They generated over €4.4 million in membership fees. However, Prime members received more than €6 million in discounts, meaning the test ended up costing more than it brought in. These membership numbers and revenues do not justify the time and resources required to launch monthly exclusive Prime seat sales for a base of 55,000 members. We are incredibly grateful to all 55,000 customers who participated in this trial. We want however to reassure them that they will continue to enjoy exclusive flight and seat discounts for the remainder of their 12-month membership.
As we surpass 207 million passengers this year, Ryanair will remain focused on delivering the lowest airfares in Europe for all customers, not just a subset of 55,000 Prime members.”
Prime was launched at a cost of £79 and €79 a year to customers in the UK and the EU.
