Ryanair ‘tells pilots to slow down’
Ryanair has allegedly told its pilots to slow down in order to reduce the amount of fuel used.
The latest initiative by Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary to cut costs will add two minutes for every hour’s flying time but knock 15% off the airline’s fuel bill.
The move was apparently announced to newspapers this week as Ryanair revealed its profits fell 21% in the first quarter to €78 million.
Ryanair was not available to comment on reports of its latest money-saving move.
