Sabre Corp appoints new chief information officer
Sabre Corp has tapped IT veteran Joe DiFonzo as next chief information officer, effective from July 10.
As CIO, DiFonzo is tasked with overseeing Sabre’s enterprise technology, corporate information technology and IT security functions.
He will also be responsible for driving next generation tools and solutions supporting airlines, hotel, travel agent and corporate business.
"We are in the midst of a multi-year initiative to enhance our technology capabilities. Joe has experience at leading technology transformation and shares my commitment to exceed expectations as we work to provide impeccable reliability and security for our customers," Sean Menke, Sabre’s president and CEO said.
DiFonzo joins Sabre after a 30-year career in IT leadership, most recently at Syniverse, where he held the positions of chief technology officer and CIO.
He also spent 20 years at Convergys/Cincinnati Bell Information Systems leading product development.
"The Sabre team has a strong reputation and I look forward to leading a core function of its operations that is critical to its customers," DiFonzo said.
