Saga admits jobs could be lost in company restructure
Over 50s specialist operator Saga is to reorganize its business, including that of Titan Travel, which could lead to the loss of around 12 roles.
The company said it was proposing to reorganise the way holiday buyers, contract specialists and health and safety teams work.
"This means that people would focus either on serving the Saga Holiday or Titan Travel brands. They would also be based with others who work on those brands," it said.
As a result, all Titan staff will be relocated to Redhill and Saga Holidays staff to Folkestone.
"With a more efficient and focussed way of operating we expect to be able to run with perhaps a dozen fewer roles overall and we appreciate that this will be a difficult time for the people with whom we are consulting and we sensitive to the need to treat people properly," said director of communications Paul Green.
"However, this number should be seen in the context of a business that plans to recruit some 600 people this year.
"Indeed, today we have some 50 vacancies. So we very much hope that we will be able to find roles for people who may not wish to move locations."
