“Seat belts don’t matter,” says RyanAir CEO
RyanAir’s newest modest proposal is a "standing room only" section in the back of the plane for students and budget travelers. No seats also mean no seat belts.
"Seat belts don’t matter," RyanAir CEO Michael O’Leary told The Telegraph.
"You should be able to choose from a safety perspective. We’re not talking about areas of huge turbulence around Europe," said O’Leary.
O’Leary said that on landing, passengers in the back of the plane could just "hang on to a handle" and they would be "fine."
European air safety laws would not currently allow O’Leary to act on his vision.
