Severe turbulence sends 25 to hospital
Over two dozen people were taken to hospital after a scheduled transatlantic flight suffered severe turbulence.
The Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam made an emergency landing in Minneapolis due to ‘significant turbulence; the airline said.
Paramedics met the flight on landing and 25 people were taken to area hospitals.
“We are grateful for the support of all emergency responders involved,” Delta said.
“Our Delta Care Team is working directly with customers to support their immediate needs.”
It is unclear what the extent of any injuries are.
Serious injuries from turbulence are rare but did claim the life of one passenger last year on a Singapore Airlines flight.
