Severed heads at O’Hare: mystery solved
The mystery of a gruesome package with no forwarding address that was found at Chicago O”Hare earlier in the week has been solved.
Customs officials found three coolers with plastic-wrapped, freshly severed human heads inside. Although officials presumed the heads were medical cargo, there was no forwarding address for them connected with the package. Law officials checked the contents to make sure no foul play was involved.
Now customs personnel say they have located "missing paperwork" and backup documentation that led to the confusion and the boxes are on their way to a crematorium in Illinois.
The paperwork and recipient were found on Tuesday. The New York Daily News reported that complicated documentation for shipments of this kind is required because a black market trade in illegal body parts still exists.
