SHAME ON YOU BBC Southampton!
Am i alone in thinking that the video report by the so-called Transport Corresepondent for the local Southampton BBC regional opt-out TV news spot was rude, snide, ill-informed, lacked balance and highly insulting? I refer to the BBC local coverage of the arrival of the Independence of the Seas at its new home port of Southampton? When will the BBC realise that the travel, leisure, holiday and cruising sectors are not best served by a wally who clearly knows little about his subject. The Independence will transform the fortunes of Southampton and environs and represents a major positive investment by RCCL in England and Europe. Its regular arrivals and departures throughout the Summer will inject much needed revenue into the local economy and pay the salary of the wally employed by the BBC. What ever happened to objective news reporting?…rant over …see for yourself: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/1/hi/uk/7373987.stm
