Shanghai Airlines has launched Budapest flights from the southern China city of Ningbo.

The route operates twice a week on 246-seat B787-900s.

It joins the airline’s existing Shanghai flights.

Balázs Bogáts, CCO, Budapest Airport said: “Hungary is once again a fast-growing tourism market for China.”

“We have been working hard to secure this service.”

In addition, Shanghai Airlines will boost frequency on the Budapest-Shanghai route.

It will go from three to five-weekly by the end of this month.

The airport now has Budapest flights to four China cities – Beijing, Chongqing, Ningbo and Shanghai.

The new route gives Budapest 10 weekly services to China this summer.
