Shanghai Disneyland reopening next week
Shanghai will be the first Disney park to reopen next week.
In an earnings call, CEO Bob Chapek announced the opening, which will have a cap on visitor numbers to begin.
"We will take a phased approach with limits on attendance, using an advanced reservation and entry system, controlled guest density using social distancing and strict government required health and prevention procedures," Chapek said.
Authorities will only allow 30% of its 80,000 capacity per day which represents about 24,000 guests.
Face masks are mandatory and all guests will get temperature checks on entry.
Disney said it will be able to ramp up attendance numbers gradually over the coming weeks.
The Shanghai Disneyland complex already began opening some facilities in March including Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and the Disneyland Hotel.
Chief financial officer Christine McCarthy said the company has no definite timeline on the reopening of its other parks in Hong Kong, Japan, Paris and the US.
