Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has unveiled a new loyalty programme campaign for meeting and travel trade professionals.
It offers meeting planners and all Golden Circle loyalty members the opportunity to gain elite member status and earn and redeem points for group and MICE bookings at hotels within the Shangri-La, Kerry and Hotel Jen brand portfolio.
The new meetings and events programme complements the company’s ‘Loyalty Is’ campaign aimed at making Golden Circle an industry leading hotel reward programme.
"We are connecting with and building deeper recognition for an important group of customers as well as further extending our relationship with our existing loyal Golden Circle members. Meetings and events account for over a quarter of Shangri-La’s business, and we want to reward meeting planners and event organisers for partnering with us," said Wee Kee Ng, vice president of loyalty and partner marketing for Shangri-La.
Meeting planners can earn as much as 40,000 Golden Circle points for a single event booking, which equates to 40 complimentary room nights.
"With Event Planner Rewards, Golden Circle has significantly broadened the value we offer group and event planners worldwide. Event organisers can now earn Golden Circle points on all conferences, meetings and events as well as redeem points towards their future events and meetings," added chief marketing officer Steven Taylor.
Shangri-La has also rolled out ‘the Events Collection,’ which provides flexibility to enhance events with add-on Shangri-La services such as guestroom upgrades and airport transfers.
An automatic 3% event credit is added and up to 50,000 Golden Circle points can be redeemed against the event cost.
"Our philosophy is simple – we don’t just help planners to organise events, we enable them to design their own experiences with the best of Shangri-La," said Taylor.
