Shearings to operate two properties in partnership with Country Living magazine

Wednesday, 19 Mar, 2018 0

Shearings Leisure Group’s hotel group Coast & Country and home interest magazine Country Living are to open two ‘Country Living Hotels’ over the coming months.

They go on sale today and agents will be able to book Shearings Holidays self-drive short break packages or bespoke coach breaks that will be tailor-made around the Country Living brand.

The new partnership sees two of Coast & Country’s most iconic properties, The Lansdown Grove in Bath and The St George in Harrogate, undergo an extensive refurbishment before being rebranded as Country Living Hotels, exclusively by Coast & Country.

Created and designed in conjunction with the team behind magazine, the two hotels aim to bring the Country Living brand, and all that it epitomises, to life.

Guests can expect beautifully designed rooms, locally sourced seasonal food and drink, relaxing surroundings and comfy sofas to give guests the chance to escape from everyday life.

The Country Living team has handpicked every detail from the most cosy beds and stylish bathrooms to menus inspired by producers and features from the magazine.

Both hotels sit in period buildings with classic high ceilings and fine original features, and every interior design detail from the front door and the stylish bars, to the welcoming rooms has been carefully considered to create a welcoming atmosphere blending country charm with luxurious modern facilities.

These new outposts of classic country style, located in the heart of Bath and Harrogate, aim to bring the country to the city.

The Country Living Lansdown Grove Hotel in Bath (55 bedrooms) is due to reopen in late May and the Country Living St George Hotel in Harrogate (90 bedrooms) is scheduled to open in early July.

Richard Calvert, Shearings Leisure Group CEO commented: "We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand as Country Living.

"The creation of Country Living Hotels is an exciting venture for us, which will bring new customers into our Group and offer a differentiated and engaging hotel experience to our loyal customers.

"Our significant investment in both hotels underlines our commitment to our partnership with Hearst UK and Country Living and augers well for future innovative partnerships between both our companies."

A coach break at the Country Living St George Hotel in Harrogate will include unique experiences such as a visit to Harewood House, home of the Queen’s cousin and a guided tour of the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens by a ‘friend of the garden’ plus a cream tea at the onsite Bettys Café Tea Room.

Prices are from £379pp for a five-day coach break.
