Silver Airways CEO to take over at Island Air
Veteran airline executive and former commercial pilot David Pflieger is taking over as president and CEO of Hawaiian regional carrier Island Air.
He is leaving his position as CEO of Florida based Silver Airways and will start at Island Air on October 1.
Pflieger’s resume includes spells as a founding officer of Virgin America and as Delta Air Line’s director of flight safety and operations attorney.
He also flew with both airlines as a commercial pilot.
Before joining Silver Airways, Pflieger oversaw the rebranding of Fiji national carrier Air Pacific, into Fiji Airways.
He also served as chairman of the Fiji Tourism Board.
He will succeed outgoing CEO Paul Casey who will continue working with Island Air in an advisory role.
