Silver Airways completes Seaborne Airlines acquisition
Silver Airways has officially completed its acquisition of Seaborne Airlines.
The combined business brings together two complementary fleets of Saab 340B aircraft, compatible route networks in Florida and the Caribbean, and they share common codeshare and interline partners.
Seaborne will fly under its own brand name on its existing network to Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean while routes to the Bahamas and Florida will continue under the Silver Airways flag.
Seaborne will continue to operate under its own air certificate as subsidiary of Silver Airways for the time being.
A full merger of operations and joint branding will take place over the next year.
Silver Airways CEO Steve Rossum will head up the combined airline business which will be headquartered at Silver Airways’ offices in Fort Lauderdale.
"I am thrilled to welcome the Seaborne team members to the Silver family as together we create one of the nation’s leading independent airlines in a transaction that will benefit our guests, team members, and the communities we serve," Rossum said.
