Singapore Airlines in codeshare partnership with Avianca
Singapore Airlines has joined hands in a codeshare pact with Latin American carrier Avianca.
The codeshare partnership kicks off next month and gives SIA passengers onward ticketing via Avianca’s European hubs at Barcelona and London to Bogota, Colombia.
In return Avianca will add its ‘AV’ code to Singapore Air operated flights from Asia to both Barcelona and London.
"This new codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner Avianca provides our customers with seamless connections to Bogota,. It is another example of our commitment to continuously expand our network to offer customers greater accessibility and travel options," said SIA senior vice president od marketing planning, Tan Kai Ping.
The codeshare flights will be gradually rolled out across sales channels for both airlines from September 2017.
Avianca’s main hub is Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport and it flies to 114 destinations in 27 countries.
