Singapore in a spin
If giant ferris wheels such as the London Eye are slightly ho-hum, Singapore doesn’t think so.
As Kuala Lumpur’s Eye on Malaysia and Shanghai’s world record breaking ferris wheel go for a spin, the developers of the 165-metre high Singapore Flyer overlooking Marina Bay are excited about its tourism potential.
Asia’s first-ever observation wheel will be turning heads by early 2008 and for the price of S$29.50 (US$20) it will offer visitors a 37-minute flight above the Lion city.
Private capsules for bizarre business meetings can be booked for S$1000 upwards. Also on offer – private “love nest” capsules for couples complete with champagne and roses.
