Singapore’s KOP Group acquires London hotel
Singapore investor KOP Group announced the purchase of the 105-key Burns Hotel in London.
Located within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, the London hotel purchase was completed through Knight Frank last month.
It is the second hotel the Group has purchased this year following the acquisition of Charlton House Hotel & Spa in Somerset via its public vehicle, KOP Limited.
It will officially launch its Grade II listed, 28-room English country house in Somerset in summer 2023.
Leny Suparman, Group CEO and a founder of KOP, said: “It demonstrates our commitment to growing our lifestyle portfolio in the UK market.”
“We are also looking forward to introducing Asian hospitality to this part of the world, via our own brand, Montigo Resorts.”
KOP are familiar with the UK market, having owned and participated in the refurbishment of 10 Trinity Square and the Cranley Hotel in London, amongst other ventures.
The newly acquired London hotel comprises five inter-connected town houses, a large reception, bar, restaurant facilities and a private garden.
It will undergo an extensive renovation to a boutique luxury hotel, and will be operated by Montigo Resorts when it opens in the first quarter of 2024.
The Montigo Resorts portfolio includes properties in Batam and Bali, Indonesia.
