Ski Club names new CEO
The Ski Club has chosen Darren Neylon to be its new CEO after a ‘robust’ five-month recruitment process.
He replaces Frank McCusker who died of a heart attack while on a cycling trip last June.
Neylon previously worked as managing director in finance, tourism and retail sectors with companies including Coopers & Lybrand, Macquarie Bank in Australia), NM Rothschild in the, SuperBreak and The Original Tour.
As well as being a keen skier, he’s a keen cyclist and was a Board Member for British Cycling’s Yorkshire division and member of the Institute of Sport Management.
Originally from Australia he learned to ski in Mt. Buller, Mt. Hotham and Falls Creek while studying Economics at Melbourne University.
He met his wife Juliette on a ski trip to Val d’Isere in the 1980s and their three children also love skiing, the eldest two having worked ski seasons in Courchevel.
Ski Club chairman Malcolm Bentley said: "We are delighted to have Darren joining the Ski Club after a successful search that offered high calibre candidates.
"We wish the Club to be ambitious in mapping out and following a medium-term development plan and Darren’s appointment is fundamental to achieving this at a potentially exciting time for the Club to widen its appeal to a great range of skiers and snowboarders, whilst remaining true to our heritage and loyal members.’
Neylon will join the Ski Club in its new Wimbledon office on March 13.
