SKI: Operator reports sales avalanche
Winter sports specialist Ski Solutions has reported its best ever January with bookings for the month up 23%.
MD Craig Burton said the growth was due partly to growing demand at the top end of the market, the operator’s expanded tailor-made offering – especially for short breaks to popular resorts in Europe – and strong customer retention.
But he admitted that the early season snowfall was "a huge blessing" to the industry overall.
He said the old favourites, such as Val D’Isere, St Anton, Zermatt and Courmayeur, were holding strong. Early booking offers from Whistler pushed sales there up 50% year on year.
