Ski Show first for trade body
ABTA will be exhibiting at this week’s Ski and Snowboard Show at London’s Earl’s Court for the first time.
The association will be running a number of activities and competitions in conjunction with members from its stand, as well as displaying member logos and signposting to ABTA members.
Visitors will be able to enter a Wii ski jump competition to win a seven-night snow-sure ski holiday, courtesy of Inghams.
There will also be a prize draw to win either a seven-night break courtesy of Club Elite and Club Med or a weekend for two to Hemsedal, Norway, courtesy of skiNorway.
It will also be handing out fitness and travel advice throughout the show, which runs from today (October 31) until Sunday (November 4).
As part of the activities, ABTA will also be working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on a joint consumer health and safety initiative to encourage consumers to properly prepare for their ski holidays.
The two bodies have produced a joint Winter Sports Checklist and ABTA has created a guide on "How to have a safe and healthy holiday in the snow". Both are available on abta.com/getfitforski.
