Ski tourism at record high
US ski areas welcomed a record number of skiers and snowboarders during the 2021-22 season. The National Ski Areas Association reported record visitation of 61 million skier visits.
It was an increase of 3.5% over last season. The continued desire in outdoor recreation helped push overall visitation to a record.
The Rocky Mountain region achieved a record of 25.2 million skier but the Southeast and Pacific Northwest reported overall declines compared to 2020-21.
