Skies clear, flight resume to Jakarta
Clearer skies over central Java have allowed airlines to resume flights to Jakarta and Bali
Mt Merapi, the notoriously unpredictable volcano in the heart of Java, has been spewing gases and ash almost daily for more than two weeks.
More than 350,000 people have been evacuated to emergency shelters.
Jetstar services to Denpasar are expected to be back to normal
today after the volcanic ash cloud forced it to delay night flights to Bali.
“Right now, all flights are operating normally,†said Frans Yosef, the manager at Jakarta’s main international airport.
Jakarta is about 450km from Merapi.
