South Africa celebrates Heritage Day
On 24 September South Africans will celebrate Heritage Day. Nelson Mandela coined the phrase: the Rainbow Nation, to describe South Africa’s diverse cultures, customs, traditions, history and languages. Heritage day is a celebration of that diversity.
In Sydney South African Tourism will be hosting traditional South African fare for all who visit Martin Place. There will be breakfast, morning tea and lunch.
Whilst tasting the delights of South Africa there will be plenty to see including gumboot dancers, the Drum Cafe drummers, and a variety of other cultural acts from South Africa.
The action all starts at 7 am and will be located in Martin Place between Castlereagh and Pitt Streets Sydney.
Contact South African Tourism for more information on 02 9261 5000.
