Spain has emerged as the most popular foreign destination for autumn school half-term breaks.

The country leads the way taking out six of the ten places, while New York is proving to be the most popular long haul destination for the October half-term, according to Cheapflights.co.uk.

The top ten destination searches on for October 20 are:

  1.. Malaga

  2.. Majorca – Palma

  3.. New York

  4.. Gran Canaria

  5.. Faro

  6.. Fuerteventura

  7.. Tenerife

  8.. Alicante (inc. Benidorm)

  9.. Paphos

  10.. Malta

Cheapflights.co.uk general manager Francesca Ecsery said: “The British love affair with Spain continues into the autumn while Cyprus, Portugal and Malta try to lure sun seekers away with their own hotspots.

“New York slips in at third place as the only long-haul destination, enticing travellers with its great exchange rate and end-of-season sales.”
