Spring Skiing at its Best

Saturday, 22 Aug, 2007 0

Falls Creek says conditions are ideal for the forthcoming spring month with the whole mountain open and sensational conditions. At present Falls Creek is the only alpine resort in Victoria that has all its ski lifts open.

September is renowned for its warmer weather, sunny days and cool nights. Well groomed slopes throughout Victoria’s largest alpine resort offer boarders and skiers a vast array of options from beginner-friendly to challenging black runs.

The alpine resort’s slope management team is (as usual) putting in a gold-medal performance due to a great season. Ditto for the ski lift operators.

An early morning start is best next month to take advantage of the overnight cooler temperatures. This is when the fast cruisers make the most of the overnight grooming.

The ‘corduroy’ is at its best and a growing number of freeriders are saying Falls rules!!!  Largely as a result of the features continually being added to the award-winning Ruined Castle Terrain Park.

Another guest-friendly option, and possibly the most enticing, is the cost of an on-snow holiday at the picture-postcard alpine resort is exceptionally good value. It is the time of the season when an all-inclusive ‘White Space’ Discount package is up to 50% less that the cost of a peak snow season holiday.

Affordable snow holidays, particularly for first time snow enthusiasts, is a proposition which is quite appealing (particularly if you live in Sydney and want to escape the impact of the APEC conference).

A learn to ski, or board, ‘special’ from now until the close of the 2007 winter season, which has been one of the best for some years, is only $61 (child $41) including riding the resort’s beginner-friendly ski lifts, a two hour introductory class lesson, and one day ski or snowboard rental from Falls Creek Sports.
