SriLankan Airlines appoints new CEO
SriLankan Airlines has appointed veteran aviator Captain Suren Ratwatte as new chief executive officer.
Capt Ratwatte takes over next month and has 30 years of flying experience, beginning his career with the airline’s predecessor Air Lanka in 1984.
He also held several management positions at Emirates and was most recently human factors manager at the Gulf carrier.
Highly experienced in airline operations, Ratwatte is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and has logged over 18,000 flying hours in various aircraft types including Boeing B-777 and Airbus A380.
