Star Cruises Superstar Aquarius arrives in HK
On June 22 Star Cruises announced the arrival of its newest addition, the SuperStar Aquarius, at its home port. To commemorate the event, Star Cruises organized a welcome ceremony and invited as guests of honor, Mr. Stephen Ip, GBS, JP, Secretary of Economic Development and Labour Bureau, Ms. Au King-Chi, Commissioner for Tourism, Tourism Commission and Mr. Patrick Kwok, General Manager-Tourism Marketing, Hong Kong Tourism Board together with Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Star Cruises Limited.
The ship provides entertainment with regional characteristics, the US$1 million production “Kingdom of Kung Fu”, “Tropicalia” featuring South American dancers and Chinese acrobats, and Thailand’s “Bangkok Lady Boys” broadway show. To celebrate the SuperStar Aquarius’ debut in Hong Kong, Star Cruises has lined up the 4 legendary Asian Divas: Frances Yip, Anita Sarawak, Elisa Chan and Maria Cordero and internationally renowned pop group Michael Learns To Rock to perform onboard SuperStar Aquarius, with the aim to impress the cruisers with endless surprises.
The 51,039-gross tonnage and 13-storey high SuperStar Aquarius is presently the largest cruise ship home-ported in Hong Kong. She has a lower berth passenger capacity of 1,529 and 765 spacious cabins of different categories ranging from suites to balcony cabins.
Measuring 230 meters long and 28.5 meters wide, the trendy design of SuperStar Aquarius is able to cater the tastes and demands of a wide spectrum of HK and China customers. She also has a wide range of restaurants featuring a selection of cuisine from around the world, bars and lounges, meeting rooms and swimming pool. All the restaurants, bars and lounges and gym facilities on SuperStar Aquarius provide an excellent sea view for the cruisers.
