Starwood names GM for St Regis Langkawi

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has named Thomas Schwall as general manager of the luxury St Regis Langkawi in Malaysia.
 
Schwall heads up all management functions and hotel operations at the property which opened earlier this year and moves to Malaysia after a four-year stint at Sheraton Deva Golf & Spa Resort in in New Caledonia.
 
"I am honoured to be part of The St. Regis Langkawi and I look forward to leading the team on a new journey, bringing St Regis’ signature luxury amenities to this exciting new destination. I am confident we have a talented group of associates in place to ensure the St. Regis becomes the best address in the region," Schwall said.
 
A French national, Schwall joined Starwood more than a decade ago firstly as a quality management coordinator at the Costa Smeralda Luxury Collection complex of four resorts in Sardinia, followed by management positions in the US and Australia.
 
The St Regis Langkawi features luxury all-suite accommodation including over-water villas.
