Starwood partners with Uber for loyalty scheme
Global hotel chain Starwood Hotels and Resorts is joining with ride-hailing app Uber, offering the chance to earn points with every ride.
To qualify, guests have to link their Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and Uber accounts online and take one qualifying stay at a Starwood hotel within the calendar year.
Guests will accrue one Starpoint for every dollar spent on Uber rides.
More points are on offer if rides are taken during a stay at a Starwood hotel and for elite level members.
For example, three points are offered for Gold and Platinum members taking rides during a Starwood hotel stay.
"Our goal is to deliver great experiences for our members, and there is no better ride experience than what Uber offers around the world today," said Chris Holdren, senior vice president of SPG and Digital for Starwood.
"It was important for us to find a partner to match our global reach."
