Stelios headlines CIMTIG cruise debate
EasyJet founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou will discuss the launch of his cruise venture in a debate on the future of cruising next month.
The debate, organised by CMITIG is being held on October 13 at 18.15 at the Kingsway Hall Hotel in London. Other speakers include Fred Olsen Cruise Lines marketing director Nigel Lingard and Complete Cruise Solution head of sales Giles Hawke.
The debate will focus on the direction of the cruise industry, which has enjoyed record passenger numbers over the past year. It will look into new products coming onto the market, such as Stelios’ EasyCruise and examine whether the traditional cruise model is becoming outdated.
The EasyCruise venture, which is due for launch next year, will offer cruises from £29 per night in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. It is to launch with one ship capable of carrying 180 people. The idea is to allow people to book a cabin for any duration, rather than being tied to one or two week slots.
Tickets cost £21 for CIMTIG members and £33 for non-members. For details go to www.cimtig.org or call Jill Ugo on 01959 577469.
