Study reveals when to get the cheapest fares
Skyscanner has revealed when to get the best deals on flights to six key winter city destinations.
The results are based on thousands of searches from the UK.
It found the best times to book are:
Bangkok – 3 weeks before departure
Geneva – 3 weeks before departure
Berlin – 5 weeks before departure
Miami – 5 weeks before departure
Sydney – 6 weeks before departure
Hong Kong – 8 weeks before departure
The six destinations were chosen as they see their popularity soar in the winter, with the biggest increase in searches between August and December of all global cities.
Skyscanner’s Mary Porter said: "Without a doubt this is the most commonly asked question we get as everyone wants to increase their chances of getting a bargain. "
The analysis comes after a Skyscanner study at the start of this year revealed that in general the best time to book for the best chance of cheapest fares is five weeks before travel.
However the study also highlighted that it depends on the destination.
