Sunway Resort Hotel getting USD60 million upgrade
Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is to undergo a major facelift.
Sunway City Kuala Lumpur will spend about US$60 million on the revamp which will be the biggest upgrade in the resort’s 24-year history.
The 478-room property will see a host of new features and amenities with a new restaurant, six cascading waterfalls in two landscaped pools, and extensive family and health facilities.
The resort is scheduled to reopen in phases from March 2021.
Reimagined accommodation includes specialist suites and pool villas.
There will be an array of new tech-forward initiatives such as smartphone key entry and motion sensors, live online fitness coaching, and wellness lighting.
"We built Sunway City Kuala Lumpur with Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa at its heart but now we need to step into the future as we embrace a new generation of leisure and business guests," said Jeffrey Cheah, Chairman of Sunway Group.
Sunway City is a 800-acre integrated urban development with three hotels, conference facilities, and Sunway Lagoon theme park.
