Support grows for Save Future Travel petition

Wednesday, 07 Oct, 2020 0

A petition calling for specific support for the travel industry has attracted almost 7000 signatures within 24 hours.

The Save Future Travel Coalition, a collaboration of industry bodies, launched the petition yesterday.

It is the latest attempt to convince the government that travel desperately needs help if thousands of jobs and businesses are to be saved.

If the petition receives 100,000 names it will be ‘considered for debate in Parliament’.

The coalition is calling for a government rescue package including a fully regionalised quarantine policy, the introduction of testing, a review of the Job Support Scheme and cuts to APD for summer 2021.

It is also demanding recovery grants for SME’s which missed out on previous support.

The petition can be signed here.
